Public Social Services
Provides financial, homeless, employment, health, and nutrition-related assistance to residents of Los Angeles County. Programs and services include work opportunity programs, temporary financial assistance, employment services – including specialized supportive services for domestic violence, mental health and substance abuse – general relief and Cal-Fresh food purchase assistance. The Department also provides refugee assistance and employment services as well as programs for low-income individuals through non-profit agencies.
