Child Support Services
Has primary responsibility for establishing parentage, establishing court orders of child support, and enforcing orders for child and family support. The Department locates parents, modifies court orders, collects and distributes court-ordered support, and works with other jurisdictions to obtain child support. Child Support Services also partners with community-based organizations and other County agencies that provide job training, job placement, peer counseling, and parenting classes to aid unemployed and underemployed non-custodial parents, enabling them to provide emotional as well as financial support to their children.
