DHR’s mission to attract, develop, and retain employees is weaved through the work of each service branch as a unifying force. As we provide service to our customers through Talent Management, Performance Management, and Health & Wellness, we are guided by a strong executive leadership team, strengthened by a progressive information technology team, and supported by an agile administrative services team. In 2017, we began our HR Reset initiative to build on our strengths, capitalize on our opportunities, and imagine our future as we created and implemented our new Strategic Plan. Every DHR employee was given an opportunity to have input, and the participation was phenomenal. The result of our collective efforts can be seen in our 2017-2021 Strategic Plan (strategic-plan. hr.lacounty.gov), which frames our work for the next several years under the umbrella of six goals: Although the Strategic Plan was just implemented this past year, we are well on our way to initiate strategies to achieve these goals. These six goals will serve as framework to highlight our accomplishments in this report.
