The County provides each employee with a monthly "benefit allowance" they can use to pay for benefits, allowing employees to choose among a variety of pre-tax and after-tax benefits that include:

Robust Retirement Packages

The County offers a number of deferred compensation plans for full-, part-time and seasonal employees. The plans provide a great way to save for retirement and supplement the defined benefit pension available to full-time employees. These plans help our employees build a plan for their future and contribute to their families long-term financial well being.

Countywide Fitness Challenge

The Countywide Wellness Challenge features exciting in-person weekend events at local parks and recreational venues designed to encourage employees and their families to participate in healthy lifestyle activities to enhance well-being. Events include activities like dance, fitness classes, art activities, yoga, tai chi, and free employee health screenings.

Wellness Education

Live and recorded wellness webinars deliver insights, best practices, and leading resources on health and wellness issues presented by experts and professionals. Critical topics include healthy eating, physical fitness, chronic condition prevention and management, mental wellness and stress management, and financial wellness topics.

Wellness Fairs

Wellness Fairs at various County facilities provide employees with free biometric screenings and important health information during the work day.

The Mission: Wellness challenge encourages employees to incorporate and maintain sustainable habits such as eating nutritious meals, practicing mindfulness, and regular physical activity to support healthy weight loss goals and boost energy levels.

Financial Wellness

The Better Futures Faster (BFF) educational webinar series provides resources and information to support employee financial security by providing education and tools that offer financial guidance, improve financial literacy, and help employees reach their day-to-day and long-term financial goals.

Flu Vaccination Clinics

Free flu vaccination clinics are offered annually at various County worksites to provide employees with convenient access to flu shots, prevent the spread of influenza, and foster a healthier work environment.

Exercise Classes

Get a work out in! Classes such as yoga, salsa and hip hop are held at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration (Room B62) during lunch or after work.

Lactation Accommodation

The County of Los Angeles promotes and supports breastfeeding and the expression of breast milk by employees who are breastfeeding when they return to work.

Commuter Benefits Program

The Commuter Benefit Plan allows County employees to save money by using pre-tax dollars to pay for work-related commuting expenses such as bus/rail passes, transit vouchers, Metrolink passes, Transit Access Pass cards (TAP cards), vanpool fees, and parking, saving employees up to $1200 per year! The program makes participation simple as payments for transit and parking products are deducted directly from their paycheck.

USE A FILTER TO FIND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY JOBS

The quickest way to find available jobs in Information Technology in the County is to create a FILTER in the online Job Search system.

To begin, click the button below to visit the Job Search system.

  1. Once you are in the Job Search system, you will see a FILTER button on the right side of the SEARCH bar in the middle of the page.
  2. Click on JOB CATEGORY. A fly-out menu will appear.
  3. Scroll down the list and click on IT and Computers and/or any of the other technology related job categories available.

NOTE:

  • You can select multiple options WITHIN a Filter category. You may also select multiple filters. For example you can select IT and Computers in Health Services and Fire with a salary of 60,000+.
  • To clear filters, click RESET ALL.
