Program Overview
The Countywide Youth Bridges Program (CYBP) provides at-risk and disconnected youth with career exposure opportunities within the County of Los Angeles, and provides them with resources such as supportive services and personal enrichment training that will help prepare them for future success. More importantly, the CYBP will ultimately introduce youth to various career pathways within the public sector.
CYBP provides meaningful career exposure within the County by offering a three-step program.

Step 1 Youth@Work Internship Benefits
- Receive up to 120 hours of paid work experience at current minimum wage rate.

Step 2 Youth Worker Training Benefits
Youth who participate in the training program will receive the following benefits:
- Competitive salary during the internship
- Medical and dental benefits
- Paid vacation and holidays
- Technical job training and guidance on workplace behavior, competencies, individual responsibilities, and development of occupational skill sets.
Upon successful completion of their training, Youth Worker will be eligible to compete for permanent County positions.

Frequently Asked Questions
How did the Countywide Youth Bridges Program (CYBP) begin?Student Workers must maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher. They must also be enrolled in an accredited institution of learning, have a degree objective, work 30 hours per week during instruction period, and not exceed six years of continuous work a day.
STEP 1
Enrollment in the Youth@Work Internship, is the first step for youth on the pathway to participate in the CYBP. The Youth@Work system, which funds the 120 hour paid internships in County departments, is instrumental to providing youth with an opportunity to participate in meaningful work with the County.
Youth are required to register with American Job Career Centers (AJCC)
STEP 2 – YOUTH WORKER TRAINING
Upon successful completion of the 120 hour Youth@Work Internship, all youth will be directed to apply for the Youth Worker Training Program. Youth will be guided and strongly encouraged to apply for other County positions, private sector employment, and/or continue their education through college or vocational school .
Yes; however, you will need to submit a separate application for each Youth Worker position or specialty you are applying for.
The Youth Worker Training is a full-time temporary position which pays a competitive monthly salary and provides medical and dental benefits. Other Youth Worker benefits include, but are not limited to, paid vacation, paid holidays, and sick leave.
Yes; you will be required to undergo a background check prior to your appointment.
